Process

At Snowhite Laundry, after your garments have been collected they are transferred to our processing plant and carefully go through the following stages:

Marking and Inspection

After being received at the central laundry, all garments are marked with special marking tape that adheres firmly, yet peels off easily without damaging the garment. The marking tape acts as a reference to prevent garments from different clients getting mixed up. The garment is then inspected for stains, loose buttons or beads and open seams.

Mending
All repairs, such as missing or broken buttons, loose buttons or beads, open seams or hems are tended to before the cleaning process.

Pre-treating stains
All garments are checked and pre-treated to enhance the washing cycle. This process involves the removal of stains using special cleaning agents. One of two methods is employed to remove stains.  If the stain had water in it, a wet-based chemical is used. For stains that are considered dry (grease, oil based paint, tar or nail polish) a dry-based chemical or cleaning agent is needed.

Sorting
Sorting is one of the most important steps in the cleaning process. Garments are sorted into suitable wash loads and special care items; the ‘like colours’ (e.g. whites), non-colourfast items, similar fabrics (e.g. delicates) are treated in separate loads.
